Day 5: Yellowstone

Miles today: 188
Miles total: 786

Left for yellowstone today. Topped off the tank before leaving – 5.3 mpg. Hopefully the worst tank of the trip (3 passes and cheap gas). The drive was pretty uneventful except for the 15 minute wait to get through one of the construction zones. Checking in at the campground was a bit of an issue – they lost my reservation. Fortunately they found it again.

Decided to head to Old Faithful and watch it go off and then get some food. We got an annual pass for the national parks, and they gave the kids wildlife checklists to keep them entertained. Taylor is super excited to see all the different animals.

Along the way, we pulled over to see some elk. Also took a walk through some stinky bubbling mud, saw a couple of bison. Old faithful blew it’s top right on schedule, and we headed back to the motorhome.

Took a few pictures today. I’ve been trying to upload them with our free internet access, but the wifi reception at our site is kinda lame.
